At thirty I woke up every single day with one thought: how soon can I lie down again. I was permanently tired, my hormones were all over the place, and it showed in everything - my skin, my weight, mood swings, and an anxiety I couldn't explain. I went from one doctor to the next, ran test after test, and every time I heard the same sentence - everything's within range, there's nothing wrong with you. I'd walk out holding a page of perfectly normal numbers and a body that was saying something else entirely.
So I started looking on my own: books, webinars, training courses. In 2022 came the diagnosis - a tumour on my thyroid, and one piece of advice: have the whole thyroid removed. It didn't frighten me. I went all in: food, sleep, movement, and the emotional work I had never counted as part of health at all. I still have my thyroid. And I have more energy now than I did at thirty.
Before any of this I trained to be a teacher, and then spent years working in accountancy. It sounds like two dead ends. It turned out to be the two halves of what I do now: one taught me how to talk to people and explain complicated things simply, the other how to read numbers and data and pull out what actually matters.
